Nyamal Simon latjor aged is a 21 years female offs coach from eastern jikeny, Nassir County, Upper Nile state. She is not married and has a big family size of 12 persons. 5Female and 7Boys. Nyamal Simon latjor comes from a poor family who were unable to send her to school during her teenage age because they don’t have money to pay her school fees. Nyamal Simon Latjor was one of the CCPA Off coaches identified in 2024 by the CCPA coordinator in Malakal Town. Nyamal Simon Latjor was Life because she does know where to start and she has nothing since her parents are very poor and there was no body to support her and her family eats once a day, no proper treatment for her siblings, clothes and school fees because there was nothing she can do to survive with. Ms. Latjor said, many youths dropped out of school at primary school level. These youths are idle and have no work to do as a means to survival. Many are lured into criminal activities such as theft and robbery, armed gangs and militia groups, while other exhibit anti-social behaviors. The youths are faced with a number of challenges that include; hunger, un-employment, exploitation, negative attitude towards work, high dependence, displacement, high cost of dowry, limited access to vocation education and key target for recruitment to join armed groups. Global Aim South Sudan and Cross Culture Project Association in collaboration with State Ministry of Education Sciences and Technologies [SMOEST] department TVET conducted forty five days Basic computer skills training for off coaches through the non-formal practical skills training program to enhance the capacity of un-employed youths with life skills as a strategy of increasing their opportunities for self-reliance and increase incomes. Ms. Nyamal Simon Latjor was retained to work at Angelo computer training centre after her good performance and commitment during forty five days training. She said, she is thankful to the management for the trust and confidence put on her and now she is being paid monthly 150,000 South Sudanese Pounds equivalent to (30 US dollars) in the current black market She said, she is now able to support her family by paying school fees, medical treatment and household basic needs and with this she is no longer idle because of her commitment to work in the computer centre and daily she continues learn new things. She shared that she has no time for engaging in violent behaviours with her age mates and other family members because she is every time busy. She said, she has become peace ambassador and adviser to other Youths who are still engaged in criminal acts to desist from such acts and learn from them. She said, that the little money she is getting made her to provide tea every morning for her family and as time goes by, the family will be eating twice a day compared to when her family use to eat once a day. The training of Youths on vocational skills has strengthened their capacity and improved their levels of self-employment and access to incomes compared to the period before they were trained. Ms. Nyamal Simon Latjor added that if GASS and CCPA could also provide kick start for individual trainees to continue carrying his/her business the better on various clarification the OFFS coaches are trained on Basic computer and tailoring skills to enable them enjoy the skills they acquired. Ms. Nyamal Simon Latjor said, if life skills and trauma healing can be included in the training course that would be better because majority of youths in the community are traumatized due conflicts and ongoing economic work in South Sudan. Additionally, she noted that for the minimum standard services delivery to the community there is need for the donor to regularly adjust Budget to suit organization outcomes. “My live has changed since i attended the training on Basic computer skills and am now able to write letter, design logo and use computer for other purposes”
