Nyajuoy John Nihal is a 23 years female offs coach from Kuerguine Payam, Guit County, and Unity state. She is not married and has a big family size of 8 persons. 3Female and 5Boys. Nyajuoy John Nihal came from a poor family who were unable to send her to school during her teenage age because they don’t have money to pay her school fees.

Nyajuoy John Nihal was one of the CCPA Off coaches identified in 2024 by the CCPA coordinator in Bentiu County. Nyajuoy John Nihal was Life because she does know where to start and she has nothing since she  her parents are very poor and there was no body to support her and her family eats once a day, no proper treatment for her siblings, clothes and school fees because there was nothing she can do to survive with. Ms. Nihal said, many youths dropped out of school at primary school level. These youths are idle and have no work to do as a means to survival. Many are lured into criminal activities such as theft and robbery, armed gangs and militia groups, while other exhibit anti-social behaviors. The youths are faced with a number of challenges that include; hunger, un-employment, exploitation, negative attitude towards work, high dependence, displacement, high cost of dowry, limited access to vocation education and key target for recruitment to join armed groups.

The youths are faced with a number of challenges that include; hunger, un-employment, exploitation, negative attitude towards work, high dependence, displacement, high cost of dowry, limited access to vocation education and key target for recruitment to join armed groups.  Global Aim South Sudan and Cross Culture Project Association in collaboration with State Ministry of Education Sciences and Technologies [SMOEST] department TVET conducted forty five days Basic computer skills training of off coachesthrough the non-formal practicalskills training program to enhance the capacity of un-employed youths with life skills as a strategy of increasing their opportunities for self-reliance and increase incomes.

Ms. Nyajuoy John Nihal said, when she started her own Tea Place four months ago, she is able to earn between 55500-75000 South Sudanese Pounds (10.1-14.1 US dollars) per a product from her Tea Place. She reported that the income generated from the businesses has since changed her welfare. She is able to support her family by paying school fees, medical treatment and household basic needs and with this she is no longer idle because of her commitment to work in her Tea place. She shared that she has no time for engaging in violent behaviours with her siblings and other family members because she is earning every month from her Tea place. She said, she has become peace ambassador and adviser to other Youths who are still engaged in criminal acts to desist from such acts and learn from them. Engaging in life skills training has helped in initiating income generating ventures that have improved our livelihoods. She said that the little she is getting daily have made her to provide tea every morning for her family and eat twice a day compared to when her family use to eat once a day. The training of Youths on skills has strengthened their capacity and improved their levels of self-employment and access to incomes compared to the period before they were trained.

Ms. Nyajuoy John Nihal added that if GASS and CCPA could also provide kick start for individual trainee to continue carrying his/her business the better on various clarification the OFFS coaches are trained on Basic computer skills to enable them enjoy the skills they acquired from Afritech Academy.

Additionally, she noted that for the minimum standard services delivery to the community there is need for the donor to regularly adjust Budget to suit organization outcomes.

“My live has changed since i attended the training on Basic computer skills and am now able to write letter, design logo and use computer for other purposes and I love peace where people are free to do their business and earn money through business but not doing evil acts”.
